back to home
note: this was written a few months ago. i’m publishing it as-is, with light edits, because it still reflects how i was thinking then.
a few days ago, i was having a conversation with one of my colleagues about money, success, and how some people manage to build wealth that lasts for generations. we started discussing what truly makes a person wealthy, and as we talked, some really interesting points came up.
and then i thought, why not turn this into a blog? because so many people want to be rich, but not everyone understands what real wealth means and how to build it the right way.
here’s what we realized during our discussion.
wealth is more than just having money
many people think wealth is just about having a big bank balance. but in reality, money alone is not wealth. if you spend everything you earn, no matter how high your salary is, you’re not truly wealthy, you’re just earning and spending. real wealth is when you have enough money and assets that you don’t have to work every single day just to survive. it’s about financial freedom, security, and being able to take care of yourself and your family without worrying about your next paycheck.
if you are working for someone else, you are helping them build wealth while you earn a salary. to create your own wealth, you need to invest, own assets, or start something of your own.
hard work beats luck every time
some people are born rich. some get lucky. but most wealthy people didn’t start out that way. they worked hard, made smart choices, and stayed patient.
if you’re waiting for the “perfect opportunity” or hoping to win the lottery, you might wait forever. the truth is, real success comes from taking action, learning, and improving yourself every day. luck might help a little, but hard work is what truly makes a difference.
ideas alone don’t matter, but execution does
a lot of people believe they need a brand-new, unique idea to become successful. but the truth is, execution matters more than the idea itself. for example, nike and adidas both sell the same thing, that is sportswear. but they are both billion-dollar companies. why? because they built strong brands, marketed themselves well, and executed better than their competitors.
the lesson? a simple idea, done well, can bring more success than a great idea that never gets executed.
the right way to make money
many people try shortcuts to get rich quickly - scams, unethical businesses, or cheating. but money made the wrong way doesn’t last.
the richest people in the world built businesses that solve real problems, create jobs, and add value to others. if you want to build lasting wealth, find a way to make money while helping people. that’s the only way wealth stays for generations.
chasing only money won’t work
if money is the only thing you care about, you might lose motivation quickly. the most successful people in the world don’t just chase money—they focus on doing something meaningful.
when you work on something that excites you and helps others, money follows naturally. but if you only focus on money, you might never feel truly satisfied, no matter how much you earn.
building for the future
some people say, “what if my kids waste the money i leave behind?” that could happen, but it’s still better to give them opportunities than nothing at all.
instead of worrying about whether they’ll waste it, teach them how to handle money, invest wisely, and grow wealth the right way. that way, your hard work won’t go to waste, and your family can enjoy security for years to come.
after that conversation with my colleague, i realized that real wealth isn’t just about making a lot of money. it’s about making smart choices, working hard, and thinking long-term.
if you focus on building something valuable, learning how to manage money, and making the right investments, you won’t just make money—you’ll create wealth that lasts for generations.
